Gardening in a small space

Gardening in a small space

I have a small back garden (the productive space is about 19ft long by 10ft wide) which encompasses four 6ft x 3ft raised beds and what is possibly the smallest deck in London.  There’ll be a sketch here at some point in the future and a few pics!

I hope to talk about gardening in a small space and also do a bit of a retrospective about the re-design of my garden tracing its evolution from a scrubby space full of builders rubble (winter 2008) to the way it looks now (hard landscaping finished in 2011).

I had the satisfaction of doing all the work except the deck – I got a builder friend to do that while I went on holiday for a few days. Also when the fence on the left hand side of the garden blew down in high winds I also got a lovely fencer to come along and replace it with a much sturdier version!

Hopefully there’ll also be a photo log of my windowboxes and pots so I can keep a record of what works and what doesn’t.
